WiFi, network and computer help in San Diego
San Diego housing is unusually hard on WiFi, and it is not the router's fault. Wire lath under stucco behaves like a shield, homes are wide and single-storey rather than tall and compact, and the incoming line is usually terminated in whatever corner was convenient decades ago. That combination produces the classic local complaint: full signal in the front room, nothing in the back bedroom or the converted garage.
The fix is diagnosis before hardware. I measure room by room, check what neighbouring networks are doing to your channels — a real factor in dense areas like Hillcrest, Pacific Beach and North Park — and correct placement first, because that costs nothing.
