What if I don't have existing doorbell wiring?
Then the battery version is your answer, and I'll mount and set that up instead. Running new wiring to a door that never had a doorbell isn't work I take on — text me a photo of the door frame and I'll tell you which situation you're in.
Will my indoor chime still ring?
If you have a standard mechanical chime, usually yes, and I test it before leaving. Some models need a small adapter at the chime box — if yours does, I'll fit it.
Do you set up the app?
Yes. Pairing, WiFi, and motion zones are part of the job. I'd rather spend ten extra minutes getting the alerts right than have you turn them off next week because they fire every time a car passes.

Homes built here from the 1950s onward almost always have a low-voltage transformer in the garage or hall closet feeding a chime, and a Ring or Nest goes onto that wiring in half an hour. Pre-war bungalows in Burlingame, Mission Hills and the older parts of Encinitas are the exception — some never had a wired bell, and some had one removed during a remodel decades ago.
The San Diego detail people underestimate is sun. A doorbell facing west into an afternoon glare will wash out exactly when you want to see who is at the door, and one facing a white stucco wall picks up reflected heat all day. I check the aim and the angle against where the light actually falls rather than mounting it square to the frame, and on stucco I use the right anchor so the unit is not hanging on two brittle plugs.
