Escondido specifics
What's different about Smart Lock here
Old Escondido has original doors from the 1890s through the 1920s — solid, often beautiful, and frequently with hardware that isn't a modern standard size. Some have decorative escutcheons or original mortise hardware where fitting a contemporary smart deadbolt would mean altering something that shouldn't be altered. I'll tell you honestly if that's the situation rather than cutting into a hundred-year-old door because a lock came in a box. Where there's a conventional bore, it's a normal install.
The newer tracts off Bear Valley Parkway and out at Rancho San Pasqual have modern doors and are entirely routine. The shared factor across the whole city is summer heat well over 100°F, which shortens battery life and expands metal doors enough to affect bolt clearance. I set the strike with tolerance for that, and I'd rather you know to expect shorter battery intervals than think something is wrong with the lock.
Before you book, from Escondido
For Old Escondido, photograph the existing hardware from both sides before buying anything. Original mortise locks and decorative escutcheons turn up regularly in the historic district, and fitting a modern smart deadbolt to one of those can mean altering a door that shouldn't be altered — I'll tell you if that's where we are rather than cutting into it. Elsewhere in the city it's a standard install; just mention if your door is metal and unshaded, given the summer heat here.
Getting to you
Escondido runs hot — regularly over 100°F inland in late summer. I book attic, ceiling, and exterior work here for mornings, and I'd rather move your slot than do a fan install badly at 3pm in August.

Questions
Smart Lock in Escondido
Everything on the main smart lock page applies here too — same price, same inclusions.
Will it fit my door?
Most standard doors, yes. Text me a photo of the current deadbolt from both sides and I'll confirm before you buy anything. Thick doors and unusual backsets are the two things that catch people out.
What if my door doesn't close properly now?
Then a smart lock will make it worse, not better. I can usually adjust the strike plate as part of the install. If the door itself has dropped or the frame has shifted, I'll tell you what's actually wrong.
Can you install one on a glass or sliding door?
No — those need a different kind of hardware. Standard deadbolt replacements on hinged doors are what I do here.

Worth doing on the same trip
40–45 minutes each way. Adding a second job to one visit is the cheapest way to buy my time.
Smart lock installation in Escondido
Escondido smart lock work is worth combining with something else given the drive, and it pairs naturally with a video doorbell — the two together answer the same question of who is at the door and whether to let them in. The older housing near the city core is where fitting takes longest: original doors, frames that have shifted, and occasionally a deadbolt hole that was cut by hand. Send a photo of the door edge and the existing bolt when you text. That photo tells me the backset and the bolt type, which between them decide whether the lock you have your eye on will fit at all.

Same flat price as everywhere else I work. If the photo shows something that changes it, you'll know before I drive out.
