Placement near the subject beats resolution every time, and that means planning power and WiFi coverage out to the camera rather than assuming a node in the hallway will do it.
In Old Escondido, the historic district, anything mounted to a street-facing elevation deserves a check against your property's overlay before I drill. Where I can, I mount to a later addition, a garage, or a rear elevation rather than through original trim. Across the whole city, late-summer heat regularly tops 100°F, which affects battery cameras in direct sun — a shaded position is worth more than a bigger battery, and mornings are the sensible time to do exterior work here.

Is $149 for all my cameras or each one?
Each one. Two cameras is $298 — or $349 for the Perimeter Watch bundle, which adds a video doorbell. Multiple cameras in one visit is always cheaper per camera than having me out twice.
Can you run power to a spot with no outlet?
No. Adding a new exterior outlet or circuit needs a permit and a licensed electrician, and that's outside what I do. Battery and solar models solve this well, and I'll happily mount those anywhere.
Will the camera reach my WiFi out there?
That's the question worth asking before you buy. I check signal at the mounting spot as part of the job. If it's marginal, a mesh point usually fixes it — that's $149 and I can do both in one visit.

Inland sun is the other factor: a unit on a west-facing wall here takes a serious afternoon load for months at a time, and that belongs in the placement decision rather than being discovered later.
