Homes built into the slope routinely have exterior walls that are two storeys above grade on the downhill side, with the practical approach to the house coming from an angle no ground-level camera covers well. The best position is often reachable only from inside a window or off a deck, and sometimes the right answer is a camera aimed down the stairs rather than out at the street. I'll walk it with you — this is the one part of the county where I'd genuinely rather see it before quoting the number of cameras.
In the older Village and Fletcher Hills homes, exterior outlets are frequently absent, which points to battery or solar. Deep original eaves are a real asset here: they shade the lens, keep rain off, and give a natural downward angle. Steep driveways are the other practical note — several Mount Helix properties have no flat spot to set a ladder, and knowing that in advance means I bring the right equipment instead of improvising.

Mount Helix is the one place in the county where I'd genuinely rather see the property before quoting how many cameras you need. Send photos from the street, from the parking area, and from the front door, and tell me which side of the house is uphill. The geometry is the whole job here. Elsewhere in La Mesa, check for exterior outlets first — the older Village and Fletcher Hills homes frequently have none, which points to battery or solar.
Getting to you
Mount Helix roads are narrow, steep, and switchbacked, with very little room to park near a driveway. If your driveway is steep, say so — I'll plan for it rather than blocking your neighbour.

Is $149 for all my cameras or each one?
Each one. Two cameras is $298 — or $349 for the Perimeter Watch bundle, which adds a video doorbell. Multiple cameras in one visit is always cheaper per camera than having me out twice.
Can you run power to a spot with no outlet?
No. Adding a new exterior outlet or circuit needs a permit and a licensed electrician, and that's outside what I do. Battery and solar models solve this well, and I'll happily mount those anywhere.
Will the camera reach my WiFi out there?
That's the question worth asking before you buy. I check signal at the mounting spot as part of the job. If it's marginal, a mesh point usually fixes it — that's $149 and I can do both in one visit.

The hills are what make La Mesa camera work different. Split-level homes and steep lots mean sightlines run up or down rather than across, and a camera mounted at a comfortable working height on a raised house may be looking well over the head of anyone in the yard. Conversely a downhill lot can give you an excellent wide view from a single well-chosen position. It is worth standing in the yard together for two minutes before anything is drilled. Send one photo from the street and one from the back yard and the sightlines usually answer themselves.
