The 1950s to 1970s single-storey stock has conventional under-sink plumbing that's usually been updated to ABS at some point, an outlet or a hardwired connection under the sink, and cabinets with reasonable clearance. Old unit out, new one in, water run through every joint, old unit taken away. A clean hour.
One thing that comes up more here than elsewhere: in homes of this age the under-sink connection is sometimes hardwired rather than plugged in. That's still a like-for-like replacement of existing hardware and I can do it — what I can't do is add an outlet where there isn't one, since that's permit work. Rancho San Diego and Granite Hills kitchens are newer and entirely routine. If your existing unit has been leaking for a while, mention it when you text, because a soft cabinet floor is worth me knowing about before I'm lying in it.

The main thing I'm looking for in El Cajon homes of this age is whether the existing unit plugs into an outlet or is wired in directly — both are fine and both are like-for-like replacements, they just take different amounts of time. Is this plumbing work?
It's a fixture replacement on the existing drain connection and existing outlet. No new plumbing runs, no repiping, no permit. If your under-sink plumbing turns out to need actual repair, I'll show you what I'm looking at and refer you to a plumber.
What if there's no outlet under my sink?
Then it's hardwired, and swapping a hardwired unit is still a like-for-like replacement I can do. What I can't do is add an outlet where there isn't one — that's permit work.
