Replacing a fan or light fixture on an existing, fan-rated ceiling box. Power off at the breaker, old unit down, new one balanced and quiet. A fan that wobbles was hung wrong, not built wrong.

What's included

Is this electrical work?
It's a fixture replacement on wiring and a box that already exist — the same category as swapping a light fixture. What I don't do is add a new circuit, add a new box, or put a fan where there wasn't one. Those need a permit and a licensed electrician.
What if there's no fan up there now, just a light?
Then it depends entirely on the box. A light-only box won't safely carry a fan's weight and vibration, and swapping the box is a different job than this one. Send me a photo with the fixture's cover off and I'll tell you straight.
My old fan wobbles. Will the new one?
Not if it's hung right. Wobble is almost always the mounting or an unbalanced blade set, and balancing is part of every install I do.
How high can you go?
Standard and vaulted residential ceilings are fine. Two-story entryway heights need equipment I don't carry — send a photo and I'll be honest about it.

Ceiling fan installation in San Diego
Ceiling fan installation is one of the most useful things you can do to a San Diego house, because so much of the county is built without air conditioning and relies on the evening cool-down instead. A fan that moves air through a room during those two hours after sunset is doing most of what a system would, for a fraction of the cost. That is why I fit more of them in Clairemont, Bay Park and the older beach communities than anywhere else — those are the homes least likely to have AC.
The part that decides whether it works is the box. A fan needs a fan-rated electrical box, and a light fixture box will not do — it is not built for a rotating load and eventually the whole assembly loosens. I replace the fixture on the existing box and existing connection, which is what keeps this inside the work I am allowed to do. If I open your ceiling and find a box that will not take a fan, I will stop and tell you, rather than hanging it and hoping.
