What's different about Security Camera here
Everything within a few blocks of the coast wants stainless fasteners and, ideally, a sheltered mounting position. Salt corrosion attacks the mount long before it attacks the camera, and a camera that sags out of aim after eighteen months is a camera pointed at the sky. Under an eave beats out in the open, every time, here more than anywhere.
The bigger issue is light. West-facing La Jolla properties get intense afternoon glare, and cameras facing into a setting sun over water produce a white frame at exactly the hour you want detail. I aim to keep the sun behind or beside the camera rather than in front of it, which sometimes means the obvious wall isn't the right wall. Bird Rock and Muirlands homes on the slope add another wrinkle: the useful angle is often a storey up and only reachable from inside a window. I'd rather walk the property with you and place two cameras well than mount four badly.
Before you book, from La Jolla
Send me photos taken at different times of day if you can, particularly late afternoon. In La Jolla, glare is the thing that quietly ruins camera placement, and a spot that looks perfect at eleven in the morning can be a white rectangle at five. Also note whether the mounting positions you have in mind are under an eave or out in the open — sheltered positions last dramatically longer this close to the water, and I'll always suggest one if there's a choice.
Getting to you
Streets in Bird Rock and above the Village are narrow and steep with limited parking, and a few of the coastal condo buildings require a certificate of insurance from anyone working on site before they'll let you up. Ask your building what they need and I'll tell you honestly whether I can meet it.

Is $149 for all my cameras or each one?
Each one. Two cameras is $298 — or $349 for the Perimeter Watch bundle, which adds a video doorbell. Multiple cameras in one visit is always cheaper per camera than having me out twice.
Can you run power to a spot with no outlet?
No. Adding a new exterior outlet or circuit needs a permit and a licensed electrician, and that's outside what I do. Battery and solar models solve this well, and I'll happily mount those anywhere.
Will the camera reach my WiFi out there?
That's the question worth asking before you buy. I check signal at the mounting spot as part of the job. If it's marginal, a mesh point usually fixes it — that's $149 and I can do both in one visit.

Security camera installation in La Jolla
La Jolla camera work carries a constraint the rest of the county mostly does not: appearance. These are homes where a box on the front elevation and a cable stapled down a wall is not an acceptable outcome, and quite a few properties sit under HOA or coastal rules about what may be visible. Placement here is a design problem as much as a coverage one, and it is worth walking the elevations together. Salt air also means stainless hardware, without exception. Wired power is worth it here for a second reason: a ladder trip every few months to recharge a battery on a two-storey coastal elevation gets old fast.
