What's different about TV Mounting here
In North Park, South Park, Normal Heights and Kensington I plan for lath and plaster. Studs in those 1920s and 1930s bungalows often aren't on a clean 16-inch layout, and a magnetic finder reads the lath nails rather than the framing. I pilot-drill to confirm before any lag goes in, and I use a bit meant for plaster so the face doesn't chip out around the bracket.
Clairemont, Bay Park and Mira Mesa are the opposite — post-war drywall over conventional framing, and a 55-inch mount there is a genuinely quick hour. Downtown and Little Italy condos are their own case: interior partitions vary floor to floor, some are steel stud, and most buildings want a service elevator booked. Tell me the building when you text and I'll sort the access side out with you.
Before you book, from San Diego
What helps most before I come out: a photo of the wall taken from a few feet back so I can see the whole surface and any trim, plus the TV model number. If you're in one of the older neighbourhoods, tap the wall where the TV is going and tell me whether it sounds hollow and papery or dense and solid — that one detail tells me plaster or drywall, and it changes how I schedule the hour. If you're downtown, tell me the building name and whether the loading dock needs booking.
Getting to you
Parking is the variable that actually affects my schedule here. North Park, Hillcrest, and Ocean Beach are permit or metered street parking, and downtown buildings need a loading dock booking or a visitor spot arranged ahead. Tell me when you book and I'll build the time in rather than being late.

Do you supply the mount?
No — you buy the mount that fits your TV and your wall, and I install it. That keeps the price flat and means you own a part you can take with you. If you're not sure which one to get, text me the TV model and I'll tell you what to look for.
What if my wall isn't drywall over studs?
Plaster and lath, brick, and concrete all take longer and need different anchors. Text me a photo of the wall and I'll tell you before I come out whether the price changes.
Can you hide the cords inside the wall?
I route and tuck cords along the wall and behind furniture as part of every mount. Running new cable inside a finished wall is a separate job — ask and I'll quote it.
Can you mount above a fireplace?
Usually yes. Height and heat matter, so send a photo of the fireplace and the space above it first and I'll tell you honestly whether it's a good idea for that particular setup.
