Post-1990 east-side construction means drywall over engineered framing on a reliable 16-inch layout. The stud finder tells the truth, the bracket goes into solid wood, and a standard mount is a clean hour. If you're in a two-storey plan with an 18-foot family room wall and you want the TV high, say so when you text — that's a ladder-height question, not a wall question.
Northwest Chula Vista and the older streets off Third Avenue are 1940s through 1960s and mix plaster with early drywall, with framing that doesn't always follow a rule. Bonita's older homes on bigger lots are similar. Nothing difficult — it just wants a pilot hole first rather than a lag bolt and optimism.
